It seems that the US is still baffled as to who Lady GaGa is while Honkers just want the answer to this pressing question: Who is the ugliest Miss HK?

Interesting revelation on the music tastes of Hong Kong compared to the US. Honkers are still stuck with Backstreet Boys obsession with the supremely annoying Nobody Korean song in a close second. *point point clap clap* For the US, I Want You Back can either refer to the Nsync song or Jackson 5. While I want to think it's the Jackson 5 version being searched, I suspect Nsync might be the winner there.

How's this for random? Besides being obsessed with Jason Mraz's song, Honkies apparently don't understand internet lingo. Or maybe there's just a lot of 21 year old females who are looking for guys to chat up to?
Side note: the misspelling of your vs you're is really irking the English Geek in me.

Haven't done one of these in a while. Honkers are scared of being lonely while the rest of the world are just scared of us Chinese folks.

While the rest of the world is busy worrying about Facebook privacy issues, Honkers are mostly still obsessed with LeAnn Rimes

We haven't done a Search Party in a while so here's some food for thought. Honkies are more inclined to search for how to become an anorexic than for sleep remedy solutions

Americans are afraid of the dark while Honkers just have a fear of commitment.

It appears that Google HK peeps are chiefly interested in holistic healing when they type the search string Pamela... followed by Youde Nethersole Hospital. Who knew that we were that interested in touchy-feely medicine?

And Google worldwide, of course, lists pamelaanderson.com on top. No surprises there...

Another edition of our favourite Google vs Google Hong Kong auto-complete search strings. In the battle of the "why oh whys", it seems that while Hong Kongers are predominantly interested in the rationales of romance, curious minds in the rest of the world are looking for the long-lost answer to the age-old zen koan... Why do men have nipples? Ponder that one.

For the past week, ShoeGeek and I have been having so much fun whiling our times away with random Google searches after the
How to Become post. As such, we decided to start a new column to showcase our findings. In honour of today's public holiday, we present the following search term: Tomorrow I will
US Version:

HK Version:

It’s the middle of the week and the weekend is still too far away so I’m a bit uninspired at the moment. Instead of giving you our usual witty postings I figured I’ll let the images do the work. Yesterday on
Twitter, @JayOatway brought to my attention the Google search for the term “How to become…” What’s so special about it? Google’s automatic results show that the first result for this term is how to become a vampire, followed by model and pharmacist. Who knew that being a pharmacist rates higher than being famous? Anyway in the interest of seeing it localised, I did the term for Google Hong Kong. See the results for yourself.
