Geek Spy: Emoticon Chairs

Don’t ask me why, but I’ve always felt that Hong Kong’s PriceRite is a cheap knockoff on Ikea. I never go into PriceRite nor do I normally pay attention to anything it displays on its shop front. This is why I literally did a double take when I saw these rather cute emoticon chairs on display. Won’t they be rather cute for kids? AND it would teach them early on how to utilise emoticons. (Sidenote: The first person documented to have used the emoticons :-) and :-(, with a specific suggestion that they be used to express emotion, was Scott Fahlman when he posted on a Carnegie Mellon University computer science general board on 19 September 1982.) Unfortunately, I didn’t venture in to ask for their price but only because I was wearing towering heels that day and didn’t feel capable of walking down several flights of stairs after having been on them all day. ;P

  1. HAHAHA this post shows you aren't ghetto enough! PriceRite is the HIGH END Ikea -- the stuff actually costs more (usually at least) and is better quality and they build it for you as well, since everything I've ever owned and built from Ikea has fallen apart, whereas my glass PriceRite dining table still stands after 6 years!

I guess I've just been influenced by marketing then! And for those of you wondering, ShoeGeek and I are TWO different people. We are not talking to our alter egos via comments on our blog
