Bento Beauty

I’m always in the mood for Japanese food. In fact, if I could only eat one type of cuisine for the rest of my life, I’m pretty sure it’ll be Japanese. I am also notoriously difficult to get to Kowloon (no sense of direction, everything I want is on the island etc) However, I just may be tempted to venture to the dark side for Busy Suzie’s new lunch set menu which seems to be a steal at HK$98. The last time I was there, the Teriyaki Beef Set was pretty good so I know the food would be yummy and I have fond memories of their milk custard dessert. (Disclosure, Busy Suzie is a client of the day job.)

For the uninitiated, Busy Suzie is the brainchild of the Dragon-i folks and is a robatayaki restaurant and lounge bar housed in a former lighthouse building of the Marine Police headquarters conversion, Heritage 1881 in Tsim Sha Tsui. For HK$98 you can choose between Sushi with Soba; Pork Cutlet Donburi; Eel “Kabayaki”; Beef or Chicken Teriyaki and Vegetarian Tempura Set - all served with salad, vegetable sakizuke, Japanese egg custard and fruit.

In addition to this special offer, Busy Suzie also offers premium lunch sets such as the Seafood Robatayaki featuring 3 kinds of seafood (HK$250) and Deluxe Sushi and Sashimi Set featuring assorted sushi with three kinds of sashimi, somen noodles (HK$200). Like the HK$98 sets, these are served with grilled vegetables, salad, sakizuke, pickles, Japanese egg custard, rice, miso soup and fruit.

Now the question is, when do I go try it out? I hear rumours that they may be starting weekend brunches soon so should I wait?
