Bag Lady: Nanette Lepore Twisted Fringe Hobo

There's something about this Nanette Lepore Twisted Fringe Hobo that makes me think of Hitchcock's Psycho complete with the scary music. Must be the fringes. Get it from Shopbop.

Bag Lady: Jil Sander Gray Manga Madame Bag

Minimalistic chic defined: Jil Sander Gray Manga Madame Bag

Bag Lady: R&Y Augousti Watersnake Clutch

Not just a snakeskin clutch but a watersnake with a stingray buckle.. I wonder what's the difference between the skins of a snake and a watersnake? Either way, I covet it. On sale now for a very reasonable US$200. Get it here.

Bag Lady: Lancel Le Bardot Bag

I love seeing designer sketched of products and comparing it to the real thing. What do you think of Lancel’s collaboration with Brigitte Bardot? Available in Sept for HK$7,590.

Bag Attack

With the plastic bag levy having been in effect for a year now, I’ve discovered there has been a significant increase in the number of recycle bags I own. What tends to happen is whenever I need a bag, I don’t have one and I decide to invest in a recycle bag thinking that I will surely bring it out next time. And so the bags pile up in my closet. Therefore it is surely insane of me to contemplate buying more recycle bags right? But check out Australia’s designer reusable bag brand Envirosax. They just launched their Fall/Winter 2010 Collection in Hong Kong and I’m sorely tempted to buy them as a series. Maybe they would be good gifts? (Sorry ShoeGeek. I guess you know what you’re getting for Christmas this year.) Tell me, are these as great as I think they are or am I having shopping withdrawal from the embargo I’ve put myself onto? The Fall/Winter Collection includes the Bloom Series; Nomad Series and Kids Series. All bags are made from Grade A polyester and retails for HK$90 each. Available at LCX (Tsim Sha Tsui store); Citysuper & Logon; PageOne and Dymocks (Citygate and Discovery Bay stores). See images after the cut.

Bag Lady: Marni Studded Leather Bag

This is the perfect combination of my two loves. Oh so soft leather and studs. Get it at Net a Porter.

Bag Lady: Devi Kroell Body Bag

Cross body bags are the trend right now but it's hard to find any that's tickled my fancy. All that's changed with the Devi Kroell Body Bag.

Bag Lady: Diane von Furstenberg Lytton Minaudiere clutch

I'd never have guessed this lizard-print clutch was from Diane von Furstenberg. I'm drooling over it and would have already purchased it if it weren't SOLD OUT! I guess everyone else thought US$300 for this beauty is a steal too.

Bag Lady: Pauric Sweeney Metallic Python Shoulder Bag

When I saw this Pauric Sweeney Metallic Python Shoulder Bag, I immediately thought of ShoeGeek. I'm not sure if it's the python, or the fact that it reminds me of her bag that we affectionately call Le Zag but either way, it managed to capture my attention.

Available for pre-order at Luisa Via Roma

Bag Lady: L.A.M.B. Camberley Surrey Clutch

I'm not normally a fan of clutches... I'm one of those girls that lug around a suitcase on her shoulder (And yes, it's all stuff I need, I don't get how that happens.) But, doesn't this look pretty? And soft? And maybe I could put it inside my bag to use as some sort of pouch? Get it at Shopbop.

Bag Lady: Chanel Classic Flap Bag

Because I was sooo close to abusing the Euro and getting a Chanel 2.55 or Classic Flap only to find they don't have the colours I want. Now if only I can afford this Chanel Classic Flap Bag in semi-matte alligator skin from the Paris Shanghai collection.

Bag Lady: Anteprima Panda Collection

This ode to pandas is posted especially for ShoeGeek, the girl who wants to dress her dog like a panda , buy a chunky cocktail ring shaped like a panda and own a panda hood, and no it's not a typo, it's not a panda on a hoodie, just a panda-shaped hood.

The Anteprima Panda Collection launches June 18.

Bag Lady: Christian Dior Lady Dior Bag

On the fence about the Christian Dior Lady Dior Bag. I know it's a classic style and all but just not feeling the vibe. Thoughts?

Bag Lady: Christian Louboutin Tinzita Shoulder Bag

Because I don't just covet his shoes. Get it here.

Bag Lady: Charlie My LoveNubuck Chain Strap Laptop Bag

For every Geek needs a pretty laptop bag. Get it at Gizzy & Nacho

Bag Lady: Balenciaga Giant Brief

Perfect to go with the new Balenciaga wallets we received last week. I still regret not buying the classic Balenciaga all those years ago. That is another classic that would have lasted me for ages.

Bag Lady: Marni Small Crepe Shoulder Bag

Absolutely lust worthy. But then, you are also talking to the girl who was going to buy herself a dog and then spent the money on a Marni bag instead. Get it at Net-a-Porter

Bag Lady: Fendi Mezzo Punto Baguette

This limited edition Fendi Mezzo Punto Baguette combines my love for crafts with my love for bags. And it's better than the first iteration where you draw your designs as cross-stitching a pattern is infinitely easier than drawing something pretty.

Bag Lady: Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily Satchel

If you are a fan of celebrity fashion, you've no doubt seen the Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily Satchel on the arms of numerous stars such as Madonna, Victoria Beckham and Dita von Teese. I'm not too sure how I feel towards it. I'm a fan of larger bags but there's something rather off putting about this bag. Maybe it's the crochet?

Junk Trip

I am a junk food addict and I’ve just taken the first step into recovery by admitting it. But I don’t think I’ll ever be able to abstain from eating junk food. I do however, feel guilty about the copious amounts of wrappers that I discard and how it’s not very environmentally friendly. Recently though, I stumbled upon Ecoist, a gem of a website that transforms candy wrappers, chips packets etc into handbags which makes me feel a tad better. Of course, they don’t take discarded waste from people like us, but rather use post-industrial waste as their raw material, (i.e. candy wrappers, chip bags, soda bottle labels, and other waste-bound materials that are misprinted.) Normally, I find these sorts of upcycling of products to be quite tacky but Ecoist manages to upcycle with style.

I’m particularly taken by the recycled pull tab coin purse which would be perfect as a clutch or just an all purpose bag to hold my phone, cardholder etc. Their Frito-Lay collection is also pretty darn cool. To my dismay, they don’t have a flaming hot Cheetos design (which I would buy in an instant as I have this giant addiction to them) but their Doritos clutch is also a standout. So much so that I’m contemplating getting this for a fellow junk food addict’s birthday. What do you think? Would I risk having someone eat the bag in a moment of weakness?
